Shadows Over Camelot figures
Don't be afraid.
After two years of not touching a paint brush, I'm back in the saddle, as they say.
My first project is a light and fun one. Quick, down and dirty. Slapping some paint on to get the feel of it again after such a long time.
As you can see above, I'm painting the Shadows Over Camelot figures that come with the board game. They're a soft vinyl plastic. Impossible to file mold lines, and questionable casting quality, as you will see soon.
Not spending a lot of time on them. They are a warm-up. This is my Work In Progress post.
Oh la la!
Look at that face!!!
How am I going to make that look human? I'm sure the sculptor didn't make it that way. Poor Sir Kay. The casting process was not kind to him.
Sir Kay's face is almost flat, as you can see from the profile picture above. I had to paint the facial features on over slight depressions on the surface.
I feel like I painted a Lego head. He does have a cheesy, cartoon quality about him that makes me laugh, so he's a keeper.
Remember, these are a slap-dash paint job on low quality figures with hideous mold lines. Not spending a lot of time making them pretty. They will look nice enough the next time we play Shadows Over Camelot though.
More progress pics coming soon...
